I took up basket weaving after doing a demonstration in my daughter’s 4th grade class.  For the class, I ordered enough cane and other weaving material for each child and cut all material for them. It was an undertaking!!! But it led me to enjoy basket weaving and finding more interesting and difficult patterns.
